Pederson, Jorgen (1 FEB 1864 - 16 MAY 1941)
Jorgen Pedersen, who died early Friday morning after a lingering illness, was laid to rest at the Nazareth Lutheran Cemetery on Sunday afternoon, May 18. He was followed to his last resting place by a large number of friends and neighbors.
Jorgen Pedersen was born on the island of Saelland, Denmark, February 1, 1864. On June 21, 1889, he was married to Stine Hansen. In 1913 the family left Denmark and came to America. And in the fall of the same year they settled on a farm northwest of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), where they have lived ever since.
He leaves to mourn his death, his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Viggo Rasmussen; and four sons, Hans Peter of Milwaukee, Carl and Einer of this community, and Svend, who lives in California. Another son, Christian, died as a young man more than 20 years ago.
Jorgen Pedersen has been a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church of Withee since he came to this country with the exception of a short time. He was a good neighbor and friend.
All the children with the exception of Svend were present at the funeral.
Others from distant places were Einer Rasmussen of Chicago and Peter Hansen and family of Tomahawk.
