Franklin J. Fritsche
Franklin J. Fritsche, 85, of 5306 Von Kanel St., Schofield, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, at his home.
He was born Nov. 15, 1921, in Dorchester, son of the late Herman and Veronica (Lang) Fritsche. Franklin was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1943 until 1945. He worked as the post master in Dorchester for 31 years. Franklin married Alice Hafferman on July 24, 1976, in Pickeral.
He was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church. Franklin enjoyed crafts, gardening and spending time at his cottage in Crandon.
Survivors include his wife, Alice M. Fritsche of Schofield; a sister, Agnes Yunek of Merrill; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Marie Free; and brother, Ray Fritsche.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 6205 Alderson St., Schofield. The Rev. Raymond R. Connor will officiate. A spring burial will be in Elias Lutheran Church Cemetery in Gresham.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to LCMS World Mission, 40718 Highway E 16 Mapleton IA 51034-7105, and/or Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 6205 Alderson St., Schofield WI 54476.
