He was born on March 30, 1939, in Black River Falls. Paul grew up in Neillsville and then attended and graduated from Lawrence University, Appleton. Paul was president of Garden City Transportation, Inc., Hayward, Calif., from 1984 to 1995 and president of the California Trucking Association in 1994. He then returned to the job he loved best -- driving a truck. He was last employed at Roadshow Services, Inc., San Francisco, Calif.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Myrna; two sisters, Mary (George) Bruno of Chicago, Ill., Katherine Cowett of Pawtucket, R.I.; a brother, Peter (Carolyn) Manz, Hatfield; and seven nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Kenneth and Elinor Manz, formerly of Neillsville.
A gathering for family and friends will be held at a future date. Donations in Paul's memory may be made to the Alta Bates Summit Foundation at 2450 Ashby Ave., Berkeley, CA 94705 or online at www.absfdn.com.
