Rucks, Margaret (Marriage - 20 May 1948)
Miss Margaret Rucks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rucks of Arpin, and James Firnstahl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Firnstahl of the town of Hull, exchanged marriage vows during a nuptial high mass at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby Thursday, May 20, celebrated by Rev. N. B. Beschta.
Attendants for the couple were Miss Dolores Firnstahl, sister of the bridegroom, Donald Hedler, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Voge, brother in law and sister of the bride, Miss Genevieve Biel and the bridegroom’s brother, Emmanuel Firnstahl, Paul Firnstahl and Jerome Schultz ushered.
The bride wore an entrained white satin gown fashioned with long fitted bodice, long sleeves and a full skirt. A frill of Chantilly lace edged the yoke and was repeated at the hipline. A pearlized crown held in place the full-length veil, edged with lace, which formed a train. She carried a bouquet of Easter lilies, roses, carnations and sweet peas.
Miss Firnstahl, the maid of honor, wore a gown of blue chiffon with fitted bodice, full skirt, and an off-shoulder neckline. She carried a colonial bouquet of pale pink carnations centered with white carnations and tied with blue net.
The two bridesmaids wore chiffon gowns similar to the maid of honor’s, Mrs. Voge in yellow and Miss Biel in pale pink. Mrs. Voge carried a colonial bouquet of deep red carnations with white center and tied with yellow net. All three attendants wore matching net headdresses with flowers at the sides.
Breakfast for the bridal party was served at the home of the groom’s parents. Dinner and supper were served to immediate relatives at the home of the bride’s parents. That evening a wedding dance was held at Walter’s Pavilion.
Following a wedding trip through northern Wisconsin, the young couple will make their home in the town of Hull, Wisconsin. The bride, a graduate of the Colby High School, is employed in the office of Clark Mills, Inc. The groom, also a graduate of Colby High School, is employed by Hoffman Silo Company at Abbotsford, Wisconsin.
Out of town guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hoppe of Neillsville, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hedler of Thorp and Mr. and Mrs. John Scheiber of Milan.
