Moore, Mertie Blanch (May 3, 1883 - January 9, 1946)

Mertie Will Moore

Mertie Blanch Will was born in Hill Settlement, Monroe Co., Wis. May 3, 1882. She was the daughter of Warren and Delilah Will. At the age of five years she moved with her parents to Ontario, Wis., where she lived until 1901 when they moved to Ladysmith. She was married to Alex James Moore on April 30, 1903. To this union was born two sons, Buford Moore of Owen, and James Edward Moore of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

She passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, at 4:45 a.m. on January 7th, at the age of 63, eight months & 4 days. Funeral services were held at the Griebenow Funeral Home (Owen, Wisconsin) Wednesday afternoon, with the Rev. C.S. Matthews, officiating. Burial took place in Riverside Cemetery.

She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, two sons and their wives, three grandchildren, one nephew, one niece, and a cousin, Mrs. Eugene Ferguson of Lake George, Minn., and a host of friends.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral were, Mrs. Fred. Will, Albert Will and Ella Goodwin of La Crosse; John Moore, L.V. Moore, Minnie B. Moore and Mrs. Fay Hemphill of Bruce: Mrs .Maud Shearier and Mrs. Lila Roeder of Wisconsin Rapids: Mrs. Nellie Tester, Miss Ida Tester, Mrs. John Tester Jr., and Mr. And Mrs. Edgar Pinnow of Black River Falls: Mrs. Warren Moore of North St. Paul, and Mrs. Eugene Ferguson of Lake George, Minn.
