O’Brien, Patrick (25 Apr. 1873 - 23 Sept. 1948)
Patrick O’Brien, a resident of this vicinity since 1921, died at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital last week Thursday morning at the age of 75 years. He had been in ill health for several months and had been admitted to the hospital Wednesday night, Sept. 22. Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic church and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Peter Apfelbeck, Peter Hassenorhl, I. M. Firnstahl, John Frinach, Roman Stieber, Ed Becker.
The deceased was born in Ontario, Canada, April 25, 1873, and, after his marriage to Miss Mary Jane Reid, they moved to Kenmore, N.D., in 1904. In 1921, they moved onto a farm at Colby where they lived until 1942, when they retired and moved to the city of Colby, Wisconsin.
Surviving are his wife, three sons and one daughter - Joseph of Chili, James of Loyal, Sylvester of Spencer and Mrs. Arthur (Bertha) Belen of Abbotsford, Wisconsin. Also surviving are two brothers and four sisters - James of Harding, Mont., George of Montana, Mrs. Margaret Cain of Black River Falls, Mrs. Nellie Lequyer of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Isabell Baudek of Brandt River, Mich., and Lillian of Montana. There are 15 grand children.
Out of town people here for the funeral were Mrs. Napoleon Dodah and daughter, Helen, of Escanaba, Mich., Mrs. Margaret Cain, Mrs. John Cain and Mrs. Charles Eddie of Black River Falls, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Owen Hansen and daughter of Minneapolis, Minn., and Joe Reid of Farmington, Minn.
