Donald A. Colwell Sr.

NEILLSVILLE - Donald A. Colwell Sr. passed away on January 13, 2008, at St. Joseph Hospital Marshfield at the age of 87.

Donald was born on February 4, 1920 in the town of Albion, in Jackson County on the Colwell Family farm to Earl and Mary Colwell. He was married to Elizabeth Ann Lawler on January 18, 1947 at St. Rose Church in Racine. Donald worked at J. I. Case Southworks as a machinist for 34 years until he retired in 1976 to pursue farming in the Neillsville area until his passing.

Don is survived by two children, Don (Jeannie) Colwell of Neillsville, Thomas (Etta) Colwell of Neillsville; six grandchildren, Brian (Becky), Sydney, Matthew, Thomas Jr., Patty, Diana; and six great-grandchildren, Allison and Elizabeth Colwell, Cheyann and Elexis Spuhler, Trevor and Zacharias Drinka.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 27 years; his parents; two sisters, Pearl, Ila; and two brothers, Willard, Leslie.

A graveside service was held January 17, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Colwell Family Cemetery in Taylor.
