McCalvy, Thomas James (24 Feb. 1860 - 15 Sept. 1943)

Thomas James McCalvy, son of Robert and Ann Lida McCalvy, died at Butternut, Wis., at 5:30 a.m., September 15. He had been in failing health for the past three years, and was confined in the Park Falls hospital a week previous to his death.

Mr. McCalvy was 83 years, six months and 22 days of age. He was born at Fond du Lac, February 24, 1860, and was married to Alice Marvin at Neillsville, May 15, 1886. They lived at Greenwood until 1905, and then moved to Neillsville, where they lived until the spring of 1924, when they moved to Butternut. He followed the lumbering industry and farming, until failing health forced him to retire.

The deceased, who was a brother to the alte Mrs. Joseph Bass, is survived by his wife, Alice, and one son, Ross, of Park Rapids, Minn. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Sgt. William McCalvy, in the armed foreces; Robert McCalvy, and Mrs. E. R. Miller, (Kathleen) at St. Paul, and one great-grandson. Fuenral services were conducted at Butternut, and interment was made at Neillsville on Friday.
