Zimmerman, Albert (5 Oct. 1864 - 16 Dec. 1943)
Albert Zimmerman passed away Friday morning, at the Laffe old people’s home at Lynn, after quite a long illness. He was 79 years old October 5.
He came from Germany in 1891 with his family, and settled at Peru, Ill. In the winter of 1896 they came to Clark County and spent the winter in Neillsville, moving to Washburn the following spring. About a year ago Mr. Zimmerman was taken ill, and was taken to an Eau Claire hospital, where he was a patient for several weeks. Then he was taken to the Laffe old peoples’ home, where he spent the rest of the winter. He came to his home for a few months during the summer after his health improved some; but the he became ill again and was unable to care for himself, so was again taken to the Laffe old peoples’ home.
He was the father of seven of whom some are still living; but their whereabouts are unknown.
Funeral services were held at the Gilberston funeral home, Granton, at 2 p.m. Monday, and burial took place in the Neillsville cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Paul Kuhn, Paul Schultz, Frank Short, Robert Volz, George Allbaugh and Carl Spaete.
