Arndt, June (Marriage - 9 Oct. 1943)
The wedding of Miss June Arndt, granddaughter of Herman Arndt, Neillsville and Vincent Gorst, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Gorst, Neillsville, was solemnized on Saturday, October 9, at 9 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Rev. J. A. Biegler performing the double-ring ceremony.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her uncle, Ray Arndt, chose a gown of wax brocaded satin with train and Julliet-fashioned finger tip veil. Her flowers were red and white roses.
The maid of honor, Miss Dorothy Gorst, sister of the groom, was attired in a yellow silk marquisette over satin, her flowers being white carnations arranged with yellow pompoms.
The bridesmaid, Miss Irene Smith, Menasha, friend of the bride, wore pink silk marquisette over satin. Her flowers were pink carnations with white pompoms.
The groom’s other wore a gown of black sheer. She wore a corsage of sweet heart roses with pompoms.
A wedding dinner was served to forty guests at Wagner’s Café, and a reception was held at the home of the bride’s grandfather in the town of Hewett. The house was decorated for the occasion with pink, white and yellow streamers.
The bride is a graduate of the Menasha High School and has been employed by the George Bana Publishing Company of Menasha. The groom is engaged in farming. At present the young couple are at the home of the groom’s parents, and about the last of October will take up housekeeping on their own farm on route three, Neillsville.
Out of town guests who were here to attend the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. H. Amnricht, and Francis, Mr. and Mrs. George Culver, Mary and Ellen McMahan, William McMahan, all of Madison, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Mayer and family, Humbird; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gorst and family, Humbird; Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Cornish and family, Hobart, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. William Funk, Menasha; Mrs. Kenneth Gralie, Menasha; Mrs. Antone Trader; Menasha; Billie Williams, Neenah and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Knipfel, Neenah.
