Johnson, Joan Nathalene (Marriage - 7 Feb. 1952)
During a nuptial service performed at 8:30 a.m. Thursday in the parsonage of St. Mary’s Catholic church, Colby, Miss Joan Nathalene Johnson, Auburndale, became the bride of Arthur Brehm, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Brehm, Colby, Wis. The Rev. N. B. Beschta was the officiating clergyman.
The bride wore an ankle-length gown of nylon lace and net over satin with a snug-fitting bodice that buttoned down the back, and long sleeves that tapered to points at the wrists. A satin pleated helmet-type cap held her veil of nylon net and she carried a bridal bouquet.
Mrs. Clarence Hilgart, Auburndale, the bride’s only sister, filled the role of matron of honor. Mrs. Hilgart wore a net stole with her strapless orchid nylon net-over-taffeta ankle-length frock. A matching headpiece and gauntlets completed her ensemble and she carried a nosegay bouquet of white carnations centered with an orchid gardenia.

Little Leiann Hilgart, niece of the bride, as flower girl was attired in a yellow net-over-taffeta ballerina-length dress with short puffed sleeves and a matching headdress and gauntlets. Her nosegay bouquet was made of yellow and white carnations.
A dinner for 35 guests was served at the home of the bride’s parents after the ceremony, and in the afternoon they greeted about 80 relatives and friends during a reception.

Her husband is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a bachelor of science degree. He is county 4-H Club agent of Portage county. Mrs. Brehm had been employed in Madison.
