I guess that I am his namesake. I served in the US Air Force from Sept 1947 until retirement in June of 1968. Having been stationed in Rapid City, SD, Rhein Main, GER, Mather AFB, Cal, Altus, Oklahoma, Danang RVN, until Retireing to Chetek, Wisconsin, My wife Johanna is from Bad Sodon a/Taunus, Germany.
