Repeating the marriage vows before Rev. George E. Griffiths of Iron River, Mich., Miss Olive Warden, daughter of Mrs. Martha Warden of Stanley, and Bertel Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Miller of Withee, were united in marriage in a service at three o’clock Tuesday afternoon, June 24, in the First Presbyterian church at Stanley.
The wedding march from Lohengrin, and Mendelssohn’s Wedding March were played during the service. Warden Isenberger, a nephew of the bride sang, Because, and I Love You Truly. Miss Betty Jean Isenberger, a niece of the bride played, Meditation.
The bride wore a shell pink chiffon and lace gorwn and a headband of rapture roses. She carried bouquets of similar roses and swansonia.
Her attendants, Stella Jane Warden, a sister, wore a chiffon and lace gown of heavenly blue and carried a bouquet of mixed flowers.
Clarence Miller, a brother, attended the groom. Lyle Stair and Guy Warden were ushers.
Later in the afternoon the couple were honored at a reception given at the home of the bride’s mother, after which the couple left on a trip through the northern lake region of the state.
Mrs. Miller has taught school near Withee for many years, while her husband is in the hardware business in Withee. The couple will make their home in Withee upon their return from their trip.
Guests present at the wedding were Miss Marjorie Holman, Mr. and Mrs. Guy S. Warden of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Lyle O. Stair of Osseo; the Rev. and Mrs. G. E. Griffith of Iron River; Mr. and Mrs. Nels Stockholm of Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Helsene of Webster; Mr. and Mrs. V. A. Hanson and son, Roger, Mr. and Mrs. Emil H. Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Munson, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Copper, Jens Stigsen, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Miller and son, Vernon, and Mr. and Mrs. Quito Laine, all of Withee; Mrs. E. S. Genung and children, Stanley and Mary, of Hawaii.
