Langfeldt, Jennie A. #2 (30 JUN 1908 - 22 DEC 2007)

Jennie Langfeldt, 99, Greenwood, died on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at her home.

Jennie A. Celesnik was born on June 30, 1908, in Waukegan, Ill., to Gregor and Flemenia (Nee Zankon) Celesnik. In 1912, she with her parents, two brothers and two sisters, settled on a farm near Willard, She attended the Willard State Graded School, Willard. After graduation, she spent the winter months in Highland Park, Deerfield and Lake Forest doing domestic work. On Sept. 18, 1928, she married Louie Suda in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greenwood. They farmed the Suda homestead northeast of Greenwood in partnership with his brother, Vandy, and Mary Suda for three years. Jenny and Mary were sisters. On Feb. 3, 1931, they in partnership bought and operated the Wildwood Cheese Factory and Store from William and Emma Gerlach. They operated it as one family until 1944, after which they dissolved the partnership. Then they bought the Longwood Store from Emory Erickson, which they operated for some time. They divorced and she moved to Racine. In 1952, she married Edwin Langfeldt. After retirement, they moved to Neillsville. Her husband passed away in 1996, and she moved to Greenwood, and later with and under the loving care of Ron and Tammi Jenkins, Withee.

Survivors include her children, Frances Gosse, Thorp, Jane (Art) Petersen, Withee, Lucille (Cal) Stokes, Deer Lodge, Mont., and William (Marilyn) Suda, Hamilton, Mont.; stepchildren, Vivian (Ted) Briski, Greenwood, Guy (Mary) Langfeldt, Marshfield, Rosalee (Milt) Hall, Racine, Trudt (Howard) Reber, Wisconsin Rapids, June Pollard, Hobbs, N.M.; sisters-in-law, Janice Vollrath, Marshfield, Albena Celesnik, Eau Claire, Dene Langfeldt, Spokane, Wash.; several grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, is serving the family.
