Gorman - Miss Anne Champa
The town of Hendren went over the goal in the Third War Loan for this month.
The town’s quota was some over $6,000, but they went close to $12,000.
Mrs. Rosa Stamcar is having some wiring done.
Some excavating and filling on the Gorman road was done last week. Due to the recent rains and the new dirt on the road, many motorists find it very difficult to travel over the road.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bayuk and family of Hillsboro, Wis., also Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bayuk of Joliet, Ill., were visitors here at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Bayuk and other relatives.
Mrs. Anton Debevec, Sr., was entertaining her sister Anne from Lorain, Ohio. She stopped here enroute from Madison, where she visited her son, who is with the Army Air Corps. While here she also visited her mother, Mrs. Anna Zallas and family, as well as other relatives.
