Schauer, Robert (28 Oct. 1933 - 1 Mar. 1952)

Robert Schauer, 18 year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schauer of Rib Falls, died Saturday afternoon after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in St. John’s Lutheran church in Rib Falls, Rev. Oscar Lemke officiating, and burial was made in the church cemetery.

The youth was born in Merrill on October 28, 1933. He was graduated from Marathon High School last June, and at the time of his death, was employed at the Alex Karlen cheese factory in the town of Cassel, Marathon county. His father was a cheesemaker in the former Town Colby co-operative cheese factory.

Surviving, besides his parents, are two brothers, Norman and Harold Schauer, and two sisters, the Misses Dorothy and Janet Schauer, all at home, the maternal grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Mens of Owen, and the paternal grand mother, Mrs. Bertha Schauer of Abbotsford, Wis.
