Johnson, Albert (26 July 1878 - 1 May 1952)

Funeral services for Albert (Bert) L. Johnson, a former Colby resident who died last Thursday afternoon at the Dunn County Hospital at Menomonie at the age of 73 years, were held at the Lulloff Funeral Home Sunday afternoon, Rev. F. J. Smith officiating and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were C. J. Kraus, George Tesmer, Peter Apfelbeck, Frank Sill, Carl Holtzhausen, Angus Lamont, Sr.

Mr. Johnson, the son of L. M. Johnson and Jane Fowler Johnson, was born on July 26, 1878, in Calumet county and came to Colby with his parents when a boy. He attended schools in Colby and worked at carpentry most of his life, specializing in lathing and shingling. While a young man in Colby, he was active in baseball and band.

Surviving are his son, Garland of Eau Claire, a daughter, Mrs. Byron Huby of Port Townsend, Wash., four grand children and a sister, Miss Harriet Johnson of Colby, Wis.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Garland L. Johnson of Eau Claire and Mrs. Arthur Burt of Ladysmith.
