Strade, Augusta (2 Apr. 1863 - 22 May 1952)
Mrs. Augusta Strade, a pioneer resident of Curtiss, died last Thursday in the Mercy Hospital at Oshkosh, Wisconsin at the age of 84 years. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Reformed church in Curtiss, Rev. Franz P. Puhlmann officiating, and internment was made in the Pine Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Strade, the former Augusta Drake, was born on April 2, 1863, in Kiel where she married Frederick Strade on May 10, 1885. The same year, they moved to Curtiss where they operated a farm. Mr. Strade died in February, 1912. Mrs. Strade resided on the farm, which is now operated by a son, Clarence, since they first moved to Curtiss.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ella Schorer, Mrs. Edna Gibson and Mrs. Peter Miller of Oshkosh and Mrs. Oscar Dittmeyer of Sheboygan; four sons, Edwin and Clarence of Curtiss, Harry of Oshkosh and Ben of Sheboygan; 19 grand children; and a brother, Herman, of Kiel. A daughter and two sons preceded her in death.
