Franz, Theresa (2 May 1858 - 10 Nov. 1952)

Mrs. Gustav Franz died at her home in Colby, Wisconsin Monday morning at 1:00 o’clock at the age of 94 years. She suffered a stroke last week Wednesday. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Zion Lutheran church in Colby, Wis., Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating, and burial was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Harold Christensen, Elmer Cornelius, Ray Franz, Robert Goldamer, Merlin Schjoneman and Elroy Schade.

Mrs. Franz, nee Theresa Schultz, was born in Germany on May 2, 1858, and came to the United States in 1884. She married Gustav Franz in Lomira on December 14, 1885.

Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Meta) Goldamer of Abbotsford, Wisconsin and Mrs. Karl (Minnie) Sabler of Colby; two sons, Albert and Henry of Colby; one sister, Mrs. Charles Beawer of Colby; 11 grand children and 22 great grand children.

Mrs. Franz was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran church, honest in all her dealings and always endeavored to do her duties to the best of her abilty. Being of a kindly and friendly disposition, she had many friends who will cherish her memory a long time.
