Bremer, John Henry (14 June 1861 - 7 Nov. 1952)

Funeral services for John Henry Bremer, who died at his home in Abbotsford Friday afternoon at the age of 91, were held Monday afternoon in the Christ Lutheran church in Abbotsford, Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating, and internment was made in the Dorchester Memorial cemetery.

Mr. Bremer was born June 14, 1861, in Germany, where he received his education. He came to the United States at the age of 18, and worked for a time in New York City. In 1891, he came to Clark County and purchased a tract of land in the Town of Mayville. When he retired in 1945, he moved to Abbotsford, Wis.

His marriage to the former Mrs. Pauline Majewske took place in May, 1910.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Elsie, of Milwaukee; a son, John, Jr., of Abbotsford; three step-children, Arthur of Milwaukee, Mrs. Albert Fenske of Abbotsford and Mrs. Emil Neuman of Oconomowoc; one grand child; 11 step-grand children; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Graffunder of Dorchester and Mrs. Anna Skervin of Wisconsin Rapids and four brothers, Henry of Sheboygan, Fred of Oshkosh, Chris of Rib Lake and Richard of Dorchester, Wis. Three sisters preceded him in death.
