Curtiss, Wis. - July 23, 1953

AC/2 Walter Nicks, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Nicks of Mayville, Clark Co., Wisconsin, who entered U.S. service in March, 1952. and had been stationed at Camp Fordes, Topeka, Kan., has been transferred to Greenland and left for that place July 16.

Prof. and Mrs. J. V. Halvorson and children of St. Paul, Minn., were week-end guests of Rev. and Mrs. O. K. Odland. The ladies are sisters.

Recent guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Stockmeyer were Miss Gertrude Schnabel of San Bernito, Tex., and her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Schnabel of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Mrs. Wm. Fahrenbach was admitted to St. Joseph’s Hospital Sunday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Erickson spent the week-end in La Crosse, Wisconsin with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Wardwell.

Mr. and Mrs. Neland Kobs and family returned to Waukesha Sunday after several days visit with his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kobs and mother, Mrs. Augusta Kobs.

Miss Kathryn Peterson returned to her duties as county home agent after spending two weeks here and in eastern Canada.

Wilford Marcott is a patient at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Strade and son of Sheboygan were guests of his nephew and family, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Krueger, and other relatives last week.

Vernon Green of Rockford, Ill., came up in his private plane and took several of his friends for an air ride.

Malcom Larson of Weyauwega called at the homes of his brothers-in-law and sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Art Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bakke, Sunday. He was here to see his aged mother, Mrs. Lars Larson of Abbotsford, Wisconsin, who suffered a broken hip by a fall at her home. She is now a patient at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Green and family of Rockford, Ill., and his mother, Mrs. Anna Green of Orlando, Fla., were overnight guests of Mrs. Minnie Green last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Victor Borgemoen and Mr. and Mrs. Marvel Borgemoen of Chicago, who were vacationing here, spent the week-end *** Note: The remainder of this article was missing.
