Curtiss, Wis. - Aug. 6, 1953

Mrs. Anna Tonn will be hostess to St. Paul’s Lutheran Ladies’ Aid on Wednesday, Aug. 12.

Dale Jakel, B.U.C. U.S. Navy, who is stationed on Guam with Mobile Construction Battalion 10, arrived here Monday being called by the serious illness of his mother, Mrs. Anna Jakel.

Mrs. Augusta Stacke left last week for Chicago, Illinois from where she went by plane to Portland, Ore., where she will visit her daughter and son-in-law.

Harold Laabs returned home Wednesday from the west coast where he attended the National Boy Scout Jamboree in California.

Mrs. Albert Smith entertained a party of children Wednesday, July 29, in honor of her daughter Barbara’s 10th birthday anniversary.

Mr. and Mrs. John Erickson and daughter of Ames, Iowa, were week-end guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Erickson.

Chas. Buzza of Detroit, Michigan visited several days the past week with Mrs. Ethel Bowen and other friends.

Mrs. Cornel Erickson and daughter Carol, were recent visitors at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Erickson, at Coleman.

Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Bartell and family of Milwaukee are visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Stockmeyer.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Reishus of Glen Allen, Ill. were business callers here the latter part of the week.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Elert and son of Milwaukee are enjoying a vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Hennlich.

Mr. and Mrs. Les Bowen and daughter, Idelle, and his mother, Mrs. Ethel Bowen, attended a family reunion at Fennimore Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Matthias and son, Harold, Jr., returned Thursday from a six weeks trip to the west coast.

Mrs. Harold Tonn and children are spending this week with her husband, Harold Tonn, at Cakota, Minn.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kivikko and daughter returned home Monday from a ten-day auto trip to Florida.

Mrs. Frank Heibsch was hostess to the Midway Club Tuesday.

Mrs. Bessie Carlson of Pemeray, Ia., and Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Smiley, with whom she is living, were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Buchanan on Saturday. Mrs. Carlson is a sister of Mrs. Smiley and Mr. Buchanan.

Mrs. Harry Laabs entertained at a children’s party Saturday for her son in honor of his ninth birthday anniversary.

Joyce Buchanan is spending this week at Eau Claire with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Wendt.
