WITHEE -- Ruth E. Koplin, 79, of the town of Holway, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at her residence under the care of her family and Hope Hospice.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in the town of Holway. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Hemer Funeral Home in Medford and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Ruth was born Aug. 29, 1928, in the town of Holway to Gilbert and Anna (Larson) Olson. She married Robert B. Koplin on Nov. 24, 1951, at Our Saviours Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death Dec. 6, 1997. She and her family moved to the town of Holway in 1988, and she worked in the laundry department of Memorial Hospital until her retirement.

Surviving are her son, Robert "Lee" (Connie) Koplin, town of Holway; daughters, Diane (Orville) Howard, Big Rock, Ill., Ellen Jahrling, town of Holway, and Barbara (Mark) Walter, Yorkville, Ill.; seven grandchildren; sister, Joanne Lavin, town of Holway; and brothers, Bob (Marianne) Olson, Burlington, Wash., Dale (Barbara) Olson and Gerald (Diane) Olson, all of the town of Holway.
