Floyd Berger
THORP -- Floyd H. Berger, 88, of Thorp, Wisconsin, formerly of Medford, died on Jan. 6, 2008, at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in the town of Holway. Internment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
He was born on May 18, 1919, at Lake Benton, Minn., the son of Henry and Anna (Hanson) Berger. On June 1, 1941, he married Eleanor R. Grenz at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lake Benton, Minn. She preceded him in death on Nov. 12, 2005. In 1985 they moved to Medford where he did volunteer work including helping with senior citizen meals in Stetsonville. He moved to Oakbrook Health and Rehab in Thorp in February 2007.
Survivors include his daughters: Janice (Sharp) Todd of Boise, Idaho, and Beverly (Duane) Egbers of Portland, Ore.; two sons: Larry (Marlis) Berger of Lake Benton, Minn., and Ron (Anna) Berger of Stanley; one daughter-in-law: Joann Berger of Cumberland, Md.; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
