Nellie Schmidt
Nellie Schmidt, 96, formerly of Wisconsin Rapids, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at the Rib Lake Nursing Home, Rib Lake.
Nellie was born June 17, 1911, in Abbotsford to the late Howard and Julie (Hultman) Cutts. She married Louie Schmidt on Jan. 5, 1933, in Chicago. He died in 1979.
They lived in the town of Spirit before moving to Wisconsin Rapids in 1950.
She is survived by two sons, Wayne (Phyllis) Schmidt, Marathon, and Arnold (Kate) Portland, Ore.; one daughter, Frances Gokey, Wisconsin Rapids, and a sister, Lydia Morisette, Hammond, Ore. She further is survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Leroy; two brothers, Malcolm Cutts and Stanford Cutts; and two sisters, Lois Johnson and Phoebe Abts.
Funeral services were held Jan. 7, 2008, at the Higgins Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids.
