He was born June 19, 1920, to Otto Oswald and Manda Ystad Goehring in the town of Beaver. He graduated from Sunnyside Grade School and Loyal High School and served in the Army in World War II after which he attended technical school. He was a member of the Loyal American Legion Post No. 175.
Conrad's lifetime work was farming with his father, Otto. He was a lifelong member of the Loyal Methodist Church, sang in the choir, regularly participated in the Bible study groups, was a member of the Loyal Methodist Men's Club, and assisted pastors on visitations, sometimes reading scriptures. He loved to read and the Loyal Library was a very favorite place.
He was a contributing member of the Loyal Historical Society and his family was impressed with all he knew. He loved gardening and when he his mother, Manda, moved from the farm after Otto's passing, he had an excellent garden on Union Street.
Conrad and his mother moved to the King Veterans Home at the same time, Manda passing away that same year. He continued his gardening hobby there with a raised garden plot adjacent to his room. His years at King were enriched with ceramics classes making several gifts for brothers and sisters and he went on many day-long bus trips.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathleen Cook of Spencer, Wis.
He is survived by two brothers, Gordon (MaryJean) Goehring of Bend. Ore., Jerry (Sheila) Goehring of West Bend; two sisters, Ruthanne (James) Snedic of West Allis and Joan (Eugene) Reynolds of Green Bay; a brother-in- law, Loraine Cook of Spencer, and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
