La Verne J. Polster

La Verne J. Polster, 83, Colby, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at his home.

La Verne served in the Navy during World War II. He worked for Northern States Power for 20 years, and became a salesman for Catholic Family Insurance.

Survivors include his wife, Jane (Guden) Polster Colby; sons, Greg (Cathy) Polster and Mike (Deb) Polster, all of Madison, and Jim (Cindy) Polster, Colby; one daughter, Mary (Eric) Doyle, Seattle; one brother, Peter Jr. (Virgine) Polster, Oconomowoc; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Colby, Wis. Burial will be in Southern Wisconsin's Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove. Visitation will start at 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the time of service at the church. A rosary service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Full military rites will be conducted by the Colby VFW, of which he was a member.

Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, is assisting the family with arrangements.
