Richard T. Hovorka Sr.
Racine - Richard T. Hovorka Sr., 77 passed away in Wheaton Franciscan Hospital - All Saints on Saturday, January 19, 2008.
He was born in Neillsville on August 3, 1930, the son of the later John and Agnes (nee: Schroder) Hovorka.
Mr. Hovorka served his country with the U.S. Army Air Corps. On November 14, 1953, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to the former Patricia Pansch, who preceded him in death on November 12, 1997.
Mr. Hovorka was a longtime truck driver in the Racine-Kenosha Area. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Local 43. He also owned and operated Dick's Reel Repair for over 20 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are his children, Carol (Philip Demski) Hovorka of Racine, Debra (Terry) Aul of Thornton, Colo., Richard (Gail Baker) Hovorka Jr., and Donna Grissom all of Racine; grand-children, Christopher (Jennifer) Hovorka, Rebecca Grisson, Amanda Aul, Daniel Aul, Jeremy (Kathy) Hovorka, and Tyra Hovorka; great-grandchildren, Chrsitopher Jr., Benjamin, Alyssa, Elijah, Derrek, Mikayla, Rhylee, and Grant; sisters, Margie Galbraith of Racine and Alice Sheean of Delevan. His nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends further survive him. In addition to his parents and beloved wife, his sister Marie Sficos, and brothers, Robert Hovorka Sr., and Allen Hovorka also preceded him in death.
His Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, January 24, 1008, at 12 p.m.. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.
The family would like to publicly thank Dr. Robert Brown, his staff, and all those who helped Richard and his family during his illness these past few years.
