Smith, Carole (Marriage - 7 Jan. 1953)
Miss Carole Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Smith of Abbotsford, and Gene Wilde, son of Mr. and Mrs. James P. Wilde of Colby, Wisconsin were united in marriage in St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby Wednesday morning, Jan. 7, Rev. Frank Brickl officiating at the ceremony. The bride was attended by Edith Wilde as bridesmaid. The groom was attended by Robert Wilde as best man and Jack Smith. Christine Wilde, age three, was flower girl.
The bride was attired in a ballerina-length white satin gown with lace trimming, bonnet type hat with finger-tip veil. Her bouquet consisted of calla lilies. Her attendants wore gowns of blue green and bright rose, respectively, with white lace trimmings and their bouquets consisted of white carnations with ribbons to match their dresses. The flower girl wore a yellow dress, the same style as the bridesmaid.
A reception was held in St. Mary’s gymnasium.
The couple will make their home in Milwaukee where the groom is employed.
