Peterson, Walter (18 Dec. 1875 - 21 July 1953)
Walter Peterson, who operated a farm three and one-half miles east of Abbotsford, and one-fourth mile south, died Tuesday evening at the age of 77 years, hardening of the arteries and a light stroke being the cause of his death. The body will lie in state in the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby until Friday afternoon when funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian church in Abbotsford, Rev. William Knoblach officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.
Mr. Peterson was born in Denmark on December 18, 1875, and came to the United States when 18 years of age. He married Bertha Bond at Withee in March, 1903. They lived in Withee and Colby for several years and then moved onto their present farm 40 years ago.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Lawrence of Abbotsford, Vernon of Neillsville and Phillip of Abbotsford; three daughters, Mrs. Paul (Lillian) Stobb of Ripon, Mrs. Leo (Lorraine) Stobb of Seirwater and Mrs. William (Ruth) Schoetzka of Ripon; 20 grand children. Three children preceded him in death.
The deceased, being of a congenial disposition, had many friends who will always remember him as being a good Christian, honest in all his dealings, who always endeavored to perform his duties to the best of his ability.
