Lucas, Wilson Louis (1 Sept. 1884 - 31 July 1953)
Wilson Louis Lucas of Colby, Route 1, died at the Memorial Hospital, Wausau, Friday morning at 7:00 o’clock at the age of 68. He had been in the hospital the past three weeks. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Bethel church in Bethel, Elder Clifford Bee officiating, and internment was made in the Bethel cemetery. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church.
Mr. Lucas was born on September 1, 1884, in Kenton, Ohio, moved to Illinois at an early age, and several years later, moved to Antigo where he married Emma Smith on September 4, 1912. They farmed there for many years and then, in 1938, went to Walla Walla, Wash., but returned to Antigo after four months. They then resided in Navarino for three years, at Arpin eight years and moved to Colby a year ago.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Frank, Leon and Herman of Colby, a daughter, Miss Anna Lucas of Adams; ten grand children; two half-sisters, Mrs. Madge Tebben of Waukegan, Ill., and Mrs. Ida Truax of Lake Villa, Ill. Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
