Steinwand, Daisy Elizabeth (10 Oct. 1881 - 13 Sept. 1953)

Mrs. George Steinwand died at her home in the town of Colby Sunday morning at 4:00 A.M. at the age of 72 years after having been in poor health the past three years. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning in St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby, Wis., Rev. Frank Brickl officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Mrs. Steinwand, the former Daisy Elizabeth Olson, was born on October 10, 1881, in Toledo, Ohio. She was married to George Steinwand on March 7, 1916, in Toldeo, Ohio, and then moved onto a farm in the town of Colby where she had resided since.

Her husband, George, is the only survivor. One brother preceded her in death.

Mrs. Steinwand was a faithful member of St. Mary’s church in Colby and was of a kindly disposition so friendships circle to her was a large one. She will be missed not only by her husband but also by a large circle of friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. George Steinwand, whose death was reported last week, were held Wednesday morning, Sept. 16, in St. Mary’s church in Colby and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Rev. Frank Brickl served as celebrant of the solemn requiem high mass with Rev. Bernard Schultz of Abbotsford as deacon and Rt. Rev. Thomas Hayden of Dorchester as sub-deacon. Pall bearers were John Wolf, George Allar, Matthew Allar, Louis Jakel, John Frinak and Lawrence Weber.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Leon Steinwand of Withee, Mr. and Mrs. William Bogaard of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Baumer and Miss Clara Decker of Dorchester, Mrs. G. Bugar of Loyal and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Zygarlicki of Stratford.
