Unity - Feb. 25, 1954
Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Wiedenhoeft took their son, Gilbert, Jr., to Minneapolis from where he left by plane for Ft. Lewis, Wash., and will embark from there for overseas duty in the U.S. army. Gilbert is a radioman and spent a three-week furlough here. He had been stationed in Texas.
Floyd Johnson, who was to have been discharged from the U.S. army February 27, is in a hospital in Washington where he is receiving treatment for a skin infection.
Mr. and Mrs. Myron Ewert and son, Wonewoc, have moved their trailer here and will reside in it until spring work begins.
The U.S. navy has announced that Wayne G. Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Evert Johnson, has graduated from the enlisted basic submarine course of New London, Conn. The course consists of eight weeks of intensive training in the New London area.
Pfc. Duane Neuman of Camp LaJeune, N.C., is spending a 10-day leave at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Neuman.
