Curtiss, Wis. - Mar. 4, 1954

The Curtiss Homemakers Club met on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at the home of Mrs. Alfred Thompson with Mrs. Fred Pudlas assisting hostess. A 1:30 coffee-dessert preceded the meeting. Twelve members answered the roll call by giving "Fun My Family Enjoys Most." Mrs. Geo. Lindau was a guest. The topic "Fit it Yourself," was presented by Mrs. O. K. Odland and Mrs. Harold Tonn. They demonstrated the use of many tools and told of their care as well as to keep them where they are easily found when needed. Mrs. Walter Ecker gave the health topic on communicable diseases.

Miss Marion Frane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Frane, and Paul Kuntz of Milwaukee were honored at a pre-nuptial shower at the Curtiss village hall Saturday evening. The couple are planning a May wedding. The affair was attended by a large number of relatives and friends and the couple received many gifts. Dancing furnished the evening’s entertainment and refreshments were served.

Mrs. Sandra Konik was hostess to the Junior League of the Congregational church at her home Monday evening.

Rev. and Mrs. O. K. Odland attended a pastoral conference of the Lutheran church, Eau Claire circuit, at Bloomer Monday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Erickson spent the week-end at La Crosse with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Wardwell and family.
