Curtiss, Wis. - Sept. 2, 1954

The Ladies’ Aid of St. Paul’s Lutheran church will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 8, at the home of Mrs. George Lindau.

Mr. and Mrs. Art Peterson and son of Madison spent several days this week with his mother, Mrs. E. M. Peterson.

Mr. and Mrs. Grant Herrick left Saturday morning on an auto trip to the west coast. Herbert Fahrenbach is substituting on the mail route.

Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Ridpath attended the Minnesota State Fair over the week-end. Their son, Charles, serving in the Air Force, who has been home on furlough, will leave on September 2nd for his aid base in California.

Mr. and Mrs. John Erickson and daughters of Ames, Iowa, arrived here Tuesday and are visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Erickson.

Miss Bertha Schultz of Milwaukee was a recent guest of her sister, Mrs. Anna Tonn.

Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Smith left last week for their home in California after having spent several weeks with his sister, Mrs. Ethel Bowen, and helped in the remodeling to her house.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Laabs and sons returned home Saturday from a week’s visit in Chicago, Ill., and Brook, Ind.

Max Wilhelm, who has been student pastor at the Ev. Lutheran church here the past three months, left with his family for Minneapolis where he will begin his senior year at the Lutheran Theological Seminary. The local church will be served by him and other students from the seminary until next spring.

Stacey Green of Eugene, Ore., visited during the past week with his sisters, Mrs. Laurence Neitzel of Abbotsford and Mrs. Jake Johnson and families.

Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Hennlich over the week-end were their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Elert and son, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Hennlich and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hennlich and son, all of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Wm. Ouimette of Park Falls.

Mrs. Mary Martin of Chicago visited last week with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Fahrenbach.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Peterson entertained a party of friends Tuesday evening in honor of the former’s birthday.
