Farkas, James (27 Nov 1949 - 20 Jan 2008)

James Farkas, 58, Medford, died Sunday, January 20, 2008, at the V.A. Medical Center in Tomah.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford with Reverend Robert Everhard presiding. Burial will be in the Stetsonville Public Cemetery in the Town of Little Black, where full military rites will be conducted. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday.

James was born November 27, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Joseph and Julia (Karaba) Farkas.

He was a graduate of Newbury High School in Newbury, Ohio and served in the US Navy from Oct. 27, 1969 to Oct. 26, 1973.

James moved to the Owen area in 1983 and had been living in the Medford area for the past 20 years working various jobs including the Sandbox Day Care, Weather Shield Windows and Black River Industries.

Survivors include one brother, Thomas (Rose) Farkas, Chippewa Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
