Anderson, Frank (26 JAN 1886 - 1 MAR 1941)

A paralytic stroke following a three years illness resulted in the death of Frank Anderson, 55, at 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon, March 1, at his home in the Town of Loyal.

Mr. Anderson was born in Rockbridge, Richland County, Jan. 28, 1886, and was married in that county on Oct. 14, 1908, to Maud Austin, who preceded him in death Jan. 23, 1920. He was married March 31, 1923, to Elizabeth Johnston, in Indiana.

Mr. Anderson spent the years from 1916 to 1920 farming in the Town of Loyal, and from 1920 to 1924 was in real estate business in Marshfield. He then farmed at Nasonville until 1931, when he returned to his present farm in the Town of Loyal.

Surviving are a son, L. G. Anderson at home; two sisters, Mrs. Belle Jensen, Marshfield and Mrs. Mary L. Berger, Richland Center; and three brothers, William H. and Charles of Rockbridge, and Jacob, address unknown. His parents, David and Jennie (Blaker) Anderson, and a sister, Mrs., James (Annie) Landphier preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held in two places for Mr. Anderson, one at his home in the Town of Loyal, Tuesday, March 4, at 2 P.M., and one in the Chapel of the Pratt funeral home in Richland Center, Wednesday P.M. The Rev. Orlando Jewell of the Methodist Church officiated at the home. The songs "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere", "In the Garden", and "Blest Be the Tie that Binds" were sung by Mrs. Ray Prior and R. B. Colby with Mrs. Jewell as accompanist. The pall bearers here were Oscar Neeb, Richard Giese, Sr., William Fink, Elwin Cook, Joe Wendel, George Rowley, and Clem Rous. Those from away who attended the Home services were Mr. and Mrs. Ole Jensen, Marshfield; Charles Anderson, Rockbridge; and Juanita Smith, La Crosse.

The Rev. W. L. Young of the United Brethren Church officiated at the services in Richland Center. Interment was in the Richland Center Cemetery.

Myron Anderson, Wm. Anderson, Jr., Bernard Berger, David Landphier, Jess Landphier, nephews of Mr. Anderson, were pallbearers there. The songs sung at Richland Center were, "In the Garden" and "Somewhere a Voice is Calling."

L. G. Anderson and Mrs. Lavina Smith and daughters, Leila and Juanita left early Wednesday morning to attend the services in Richland Center. Other relatives attending the services there were Mr. and Mrs. Ole Jensen, Marshfield, Mrs. Mary Berger, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Berger, Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Mainwaring, and Mr. and Mrs. Milford Everson, Richland Center; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Anderson, Mr. Chas. Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Anderson, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Myron Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Tadder, and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kidd, Rockbridge; Mr. and Mrs., D. D. Austin, Gillingham; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Haslow, Spring Green and Madison, Mr. and Mrs. David Landphier, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Landphier, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Landphier, and Mr. James Landphier.

A precious one from us is gone,

A voice we loved is stilled,

A place is vacant in our home

Which never can be filled.

God in His wisdom has recalled

The boon His love had given,

And though the body slumbers here,

The soul is safe in Heaven.
