Abbotsford (26 Feb. 1931)

LOCAL AND PERSONAL

Six men are now employed at the Abbotsford battery plant and last week ninety Marquette batteries were made. This is not the first batch completed however, but the largest number in one week so far.

Albert Zimbal and Mrs. Fred Fretence went to Fond du Lac Wednesday where Mr. Zimbal will attend a meeting of the Federal Farm Board. They will then go to Sheboygan to spend the week end with their mother.

Adelia Anderson who teaches in the Edgar schools, was an over Sunday visitor in the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Anderson. Miss Anderson made the Tribune office a pleasant call and added her name to our growing list of subscribers. Thanks.

In a fast and furious game of basket ball at the Armory Wednesday night Fred’s Rainbows defeated the Bell Telephone bunch by a 24 to 9 tally. For further particulars ask Fred. The regular Hq. Btry. squad defeated the Granton City Team in a follow-up game by a 35 to 29 score. Granton led the scoring most of the first half but were overtaken just before the half ended. Two more scalps for the trophy room.
