Kops, Nannie (11 May 1872 - 12 Apr. 1954)

Mrs. Nannie Kops of Unity, Wisconsin died Monday morning. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Zion Lutheran church, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Floyd Purkis, Herbert Kurth, Robert Johnson, Gerald Kops, Lyle Johnson, Richard Kops. Flowers were in charge of Virginia Curten, Dorothy Palcott, Dolores Nelson, Patsy Johnson, Lillian Johnson, Jeanette Abbott.

Mrs. Kops was born May 11th, 1872, in Saxon, Germany, daughter of William and Augusta Lochning. At the age of 19, she came to the United States. On August 5th, 1891, she married Herman Kops, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Karl Kops, in Zion Lutheran church in Colby, Wis.

They made their home in the town of Colby and village of Unity, Wis. They were blessed with 12 children. Surviving are three sons and two daughters - Herman Kops of Colby, Lester Kops of Colby, Norman Kops of Chicago, Mrs. Elsie Willmare of Unity and Mrs. Arthur Kurth of Wisconsin Rapids. There are 22 grand children and 18 great grand children.

Five sons and two daughters preceded her in death. Mr. Kops passed away in 1928.

Mrs. Kops was well and favorably known in Colby and Unity as an every day Christian who was always ready to lend a helping hand wherever needed, and, being of a pleasant and congenial disposition, had many friends who will always remember her many virtues.
