Wachsmuth, Carl Herman (5 Sept. 1892 - 8 Oct. 1954)
Funeral services for Carl Herman Wachsmuth of Owen, Wisconsin, Route 2, who died Friday evening at his home at the age of 62, were held Tuesday afternoon in the Griebrow Funeral Home in Owen. Harold Miller of Withee had charge of the services and internment was made in the Riverside cemetery. Death was due to a lingering illness resulting from cancer.
Mr. Wachsmuth, a former owner of the Atwood Store, was born on September 5, 1892, in Curtiss. He lived in Glidden for 18 years and when he retired four years ago moved to his present home. On February 22, 1918, he married Helen Ammerich at Merrill.
Surviving are his wife; four sons, Victor Wachsmuth of Merrill, Wallace and Leonard Wachsmuth of Wausau and Jerold Wachsmuth in the U.S. Navy at Great Lakes; three daughters, Mrs. John (Mildred) Wieter and Mrs. Charles (Doris) Bowen of Chicago, Ill., and Karen Wachsmuth at home; five brothers, Edwin of Minneapolis, Minn., Albert of Alabama, Hugo of Oconomowoc, Emil of Gilman and Leo of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. William (Ida) Jakel of Dorchester and Mrs. Nora Erbe of Lake Geneva; and six grand children. Three brothers preceded him in death.
