Radley, Jeanette Elaine (Marriage - 25 June 1955)
Miss Jeanette Elaine Radley of Owen, Wisconsin, Route 1, became the bride of Melvin Kenneth Ewert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ewert of Colby, Route 2, in St. Paul’s Lutheran church in Green Grove Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, Rev. A. Saremba reading the marriage ceremony.
The bride was attired in a gown fashioned of lace over satin with a sweetheart neckline and chapel length train. A headpiece of orange blossoms held her finger-tip length veil of illusion net. Her colonial bouquet consisted of white carnations and orange blossoms.
Miss Shirley Stasek of Owen, a friend of the bride, was the maid of honor. She wore a ballerina length dress of blue net and lace over taffeta. Carnations and orange blossoms made up her colonial bouquet. Mrs. Betty LaBounty of Oceanside, Calif., the bride’s sister, was bridesmaid. Her gown was of pink net over taffeta and styled identically to the maid of honor’s. She carried a bouquet of carnations and orange blossoms.
Milford Ewert, the groom’s brother, was best man and Halver Becken was groomsman. Ushers were Pierce Oryens, a cousin of the bride, and Myron Ewert, a brother of the groom.
A reception was held at the home of the groom’s parents in the afternoon.
The bride is a graduate of Loyal High School and the groom graduated from Colby High School. He recently returned from duty overseas. After a honeymoon in Northern Minnesota, the couple will make their home at 1400 ½ Superior St., Saute Ste. Marie, Mich.
Guests at the wedding were from Oceanside, Calif., Chicago, Ill., Milwaukee, Spencer, Marshfield, Unity, Loyal, Pewaukee, Knapp, Owen, Colby, Bloomer, Withee, Riplinger and Sussex.
