NEILLSVILLE -- Vera Arlene Buddenhagen, 87, of Neillsville died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at the Memorial Health and Rehabilitation Center.

A funeral service for Vera will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, and again from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, prior to the service, both at the funeral home. Interment will be in Neillsville City Cemetery.

Vera was born Jan. 28, 1921, the daughter of Horace and Lucy (Free) Lawrence in the town of York in Clark County. In April 1940, she was united in marriage to Leland Buddenhagen. He preceded her in death. She worked for Flitter's Grocery Store and several other area stores including the Gambles Store where she worked as a clerk for many years.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandy (Joe) Kreitlow, Neillsville, and Lola Lee (Jim) Chaffin, Vesper; and a son, Byrl (Sharon) Buddenhagen, Neillsville; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
