Stella Swanek

Stella M. Swanek, 92, of Thorp, formerly of Lublin, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at Our Lady of Victory Hospital, Stanley.

Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Lublin. Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. until the service at the church.

Stella Swanek

Stella M. Swanek, 92, of Thorp, formerly of Lublin, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley.

Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. today, Feb. 4, 2008, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Lublin.

Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. today until time of the service at the church.

Stella Marie was born June 10, 1915, in Chicago to Anton and Mary (Kusmider) Siudak. She was raised in Lublin. She married William Swanek in 1949. The couple lived in Chicago, and a few years after her husband died, she returned to Lublin to live among friends and family.

Survivors are her son, Richard (Barbara) Swanek of Bensenville, Ill., eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by two sisters, Jane (John) Gajda of Lublin and Sophie (Joe) Pawlicki of Thorp, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter and three brothers.
