Spiegelberg, Helen Mildred (19 Sept. 1929 - 4 Feb. 2008)

Helen M. Spiegelberg, 78, of Marshfield died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, in the Critical Care Unit of Saint Joseph's Hospital with her family by her side.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at Hansen Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Stoetzel will officiate. Burial of ashes will be in the town of Rock cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Helen Mildred Spiegelberg was born Sept. 19, 1929, in the town of Rock, a daughter of Ernst and Rosa (Hefti) Lucas. She attended school in the town of Rock.

The former Ms. Lucas was married to LeRoy "Bob" Todd and later divorced. On Jan. 2, 1993, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Granton, Helen was united in marriage to Sylvan Spiegelberg. The couple made their home in Marshfield.

Mrs. Spiegelberg was employed as a surgical technician at Saint Joseph's Hospital for 37 years.

Helen was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Granton. She cherished the time she could spend with her husband and family.

Mrs. Spiegelberg is lovingly survived by her husband, Sylvan, Marshfield; foster daughter, Esther (Chuck) Hopfensberger, Bloomer; stepchildren, Kathern (Don) Axelsen, Eau Claire, Linda (David) Shaw, Mukwonago, Mary (Dick) Sigl, Wisconsin Rapids, Shari (Chuck) Hawkins, New Berlin, Rosie Spiegelberg, Waukesha; three step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren and two foster grandchildren. She is further survived by three brothers, John Lucas, Marshfield, George (Alice) Lucas, Long Boat Key, Fla., and Edwin (Rosemary) Lucas, Canada; two sisters, Adeline Dahlke, Granton, and Evelyn (Alvin) Hansen, Nekoosa, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A brother, Phil Lucas, preceded Mrs. Spiegelberg in death.
