Nina A. Casper, 95, of Neillsville, died Feb. 9, 2008, at the Memorial Health and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Interment will be in Neillsville City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from noon. until service time Wednesday at Gesche Funeral Home.

She was born Feb. 3, 1913, in Black River Falls, the daughter of Ernest G. and Minnie A. (Onstad) Gates. She was united in marriage to Herman Embke on Dec. 6, 1933. He died in 1966. Nina then later married Lawrence Casper. He died in 1985. After raising her family, Nina went to work for the Nelson Filter Company for a short time. Later, she worked as a clerk at Schultz Bros. Dime Store for many years before it closed and she retired.

She is survived by four sons: Ronald (Nancy) Embke of Neillsville, Darrell (Sherry Green) Embke of La Crosse, Eugene (Anita) Embke of Humbird and Delbert (Judy) Embke of Hatfield; one step-son: Ernest (Hilda) Embke of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a brother: Leo Gates of Janesville and a sister-in-law: Fifi Gates of Black River Falls.
