Wilcenski, Joseph (19 MAR 1870 - 19 FEB 1942)
Joseph Wilcenski passed away at his home in the village (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.) on Thursday, Feb. 19, 1942. He had reached the age of 71 years and 11 months. About nine months ago it became necessary to amputate one of his legs. Since that time he had been confined to his home and the past few weeks failed rapidly.
The deceased was born in Poland on March 19, 1870, and came to America in 1887, locating in Minneapolis. He came to Thorp in 1895 and became engaged in farming. After his retirement he moved to the village and was employed by the municipality for many years.
Surviving are four sons, Frank and Tony Wilcenski of Gilman, John Wojcik of Thorp and Mike of Medford; four daughters, Mary, Mrs. Stanley Dobrzynski of Sheboygan Falls, Anna, Mrs. Theo. Stroinski, and Angeline, Mrs. Henry Czyzewicz of Thorp, and Julia, Mrs. Joseph Herman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Church on Saturday morning last at ten o’clock, Father F.A. Kulig and Father Theo. Szczerbicki officiating, and interment following in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Stanley Mazurek, John Kliminski, Anton Stroinski, Andrew Herman, Anton Papierniak and Val Dobrzynski.
