Bauer, Margaret (27 SEP 1897 - 5 MAR 1942)
Mrs. Alois E. Bauer, 44, passed away at 7:30 Thursday morning, March 5, 1942, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Chippewa Falls. Her sudden death was caused by a stroke which she suffered about nine o’clock Wednesday evening at her home here. No illness whatever preceded the hour when she was stricken and no warning was given family and friends of the sudden loss of one so dear.
Margaret Fleischman was born on Sept. 27, 1897, at Marshfield, Wis. She was united in marriage to Alois E. Bauer at Gilman, Wis., on Nov. 17, 1920. She resided at Gilman for three years and Chicago for thirteen years before coming to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1936 with her husband and family, when they purchased the 5 & 10 cent store here.
She leaves to mourn, her husband and three children, two sons, Richard at Marquette University, Milwaukee, and Lawrence at home; one daughter, Helen, at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Fleischman of Gilman; one brother, John Fleischman of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Theresa Smith of Gilman and Mrs. Dorothea Slater of Chicago.
Funeral services were held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church at nine o’clock Monday morning, Rev. A.M. Muckerheide officiating, and interment following in St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were, Dr. F.P. Neis, Philip Adler, Ralph Anderson, L.J. Snyder, Wesley Slater and Hugh Smith.
