Marsh, Norman (24 Mar. 1906 - 6 May 1955)
Norman Marsh, a former alderman of the third wave of the city of Colby, died Friday morning at 5:30 o’clock at his home in Colby, Wisconsin at the age of 49 years, a lung ailment being the cause of his death. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Zion Lutheran church, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.
Pall bearers were Dr. W. W. Payne, S. L. Loos, Art Kumbler, Ray Kriplean, Frank Marquardt and Edwin Grambort. Mrs. Maynard Bauer, Grace Schulz, Kenneth Schulz and Woodrow Tesmer sang "Jesus Christ My Sure Defense" and "Be Still My Soul."
Mr. Marsh was born on March 24, 1906, in the town of Hull, Marathon county. He was employed as salesman by Kriplean Bros. of Colby and by the Western Condensing Co. of Owen before entering the employ of the Loos Machine Shop here.
He was married twice. His second marriage was to Miss Laura Feind on September 29, 1945, at Colby, Wis.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Joan) Groenke of Racine; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Marsh of Colby; a sister, Mrs. Viola Johnson of Wausau and three grand children.
Mr. Marsh was of a friendly and congenial disposition but always held steadfast to his convictions, especially on city matters while serving on the city council. His opinions, resulting from much careful study and analysis on his part, were honest and sincere, creating the respect of all who knew him.
Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Goenke, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Wangard, Mr. and Mrs. R. McKercher, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Marsh, Miss Florence Marsh, Mrs. Belle Provinski, Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Tiebel, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Feind, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Feind, Irene, Verna and Alida Feind, Evelyn Biescher, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mueller and Ed Schwada.
