Hudson, Paul (1931? - 19 JUL 1942)
Paul Hudson, 11-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Hudson of Stanley, lost his life while swimming in the north fork of the Eau Claire River two miles south of Highway 29 near the Chas. Henkins farm about seven o’clock Sunday evening. Death was presumably caused by heart failure; as he was known to have an enlarge heart. Two companions, son of the Max Schultz family, notified their parents of the accident and with help the body was recovered after an hour’s search.
The boy had been employed for the summer months on the Chas. Henkins farm and had been given permission to take an after supper swim.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Mildred Hudson, three brothers, John, Peter and Paul, and one sister, Mary Ann, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Mitchell of Stanley and his father who is a patient at a hospital near Superior.
Funeral services were conducted at the Brethren Church by Rev. Lewis Hyde on Wednesday afternoon at Stanley.
