Syring, Verna (Marriage - 23 Apr. 1949)
Miss Verna Syring, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Syring of Colby, Wis., became the bride of Vilas Thede, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Thede, at Zion Lutheran church Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating. The couple was attended by the bride’s brother and sister in law, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Syring of Edgar and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Olson of Marshfield.
The bride was gowned in white ninon over satin, styled with long sleeves tapering to points at the wrists, and with shirred satin edging the yoke. Her finger-tip veil of French illusion, edged with double rows of wide lace, was caught to a tiara of seed pearls and rhinestones. She carried a shower bouquet of red roses, swansonia and Easter lilies.
Both bridal attendants wore identically styled gowns of ninon with matching headdress. The matron of honor was gowned in yellow and the bridesmaid in sea green. Each carried a bouquet of light and dark pink carnations.
Following the wedding, dinner was served to 75 guests at the home of the bride’s brother and sister in law, Mr. and Mrs. Syring. A reception was held in the evening, followed by a dance at Walter’s Pavilion.
Mrs. Thede is a graduate of the Colby, Wis. High School. Mr. and Mrs. Thede will reside on the groom’s farm on route 1, Colby, Wis.
Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Totsch of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. John Ernst of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Winkel of Rice Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Christ Winkel of Medford, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Winkel of Chilton, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Valefsky of Collins, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Cline of Grand Rapids, Michigan and others from Owen, Colby, Edgar and Marshfield.
